🧩 Component Library
Save looted and crafted parts by snipping their stats, then load them into builds.
The Component Library stores ship components you own — looted or crafted — with all their stats saved. Once saved, a component appears in the Ship Loadout builder's "My Library" dropdown. The library includes a screenshot reader: open the in-game examine window, snip it, and let the tool fill the stat fields automatically.
Screenshot Capture — Three Methods
Screen capture: 📸 Capture & Read — Best for repeated use · Requires a saved capture area (set once with ⛶ Set Area — see below). · Click 📸 Capture & Read. The app instantly reads the pre-defined screen region — no keypress in SWG required. · Stats fill into the form automatically.
Screen capture: 📷 Snip — Best for one-off captures · In SWG, open the component's examine window (right-click → Examine or via radial menu). · Press Win + Shift + S. The Windows Snip & Sketch overlay appears. · Draw a box around the stat section of the examine window. Do not include the item name header — start from the first stat line. · Switch back to the Workshop (Alt+Tab or click the taskbar icon) and click 📷 Snip. · The app reads the clipboard image and fills the matching stat fields.

.png or .jpg file — for example, a screenshot a seller sent you in Discord. · The app reads the image file and fills the stats exactly like the other methods. · Useful for evaluating a part before you buy it.Setting Up the Saved Capture Area (one-time)
- Open any component's examine window in SWG and position it somewhere on your screen.
- Switch to the Workshop and click ⛶ Set Area. The Workshop window minimizes and a crosshair overlay appears.
- Click and drag a rectangle around the stats section of the examine window — the lines showing stat names and numbers.
- Release. A confirmation appears. The area is saved permanently.
- Click 👁 Show Area to display the saved region as a glowing outline on your desktop. Position your examine window inside it, then hide the outline with 🙈 Hide Area before clicking Capture & Read.
Tip: Keep your examine window in the same screen position every time you scan. If the tooltip drifts outside the capture area, the reader will miss stats. Use Show Area to check alignment.
Tip: A global capture hotkey (shown as ⌨ next to ＋ Save to library) lets you trigger 📸 Capture & Read without alt-tabbing out of SWG — press it while still in the game. Change the key on the Resources tool's My Inventory tab.
After an OCR Scan

Click ▸ show exact text the reader saw to expand the raw OCR output — useful for troubleshooting if a stat value looks wrong.
Saving a Component
- Select the Component type from the dropdown. Stat fields update to match that type.
- Enter or scan the stat values.
- Enter a Name, pick the owning character in the Character (which toon owns this part) dropdown, and add optional Notes.
- Click ＋ Save to library. The component is immediately available in the Ship Loadout builder.
Managing Your Library

| Character filter / 👤 | Each part can be tagged with the character that owns it. The character dropdown shows only that toon's parts; the 👤 button opens a manager to add, rename, or remove characters. |

| edit | Loads the component back into the form so you can correct any stats. |

| ⬆ Export | Saves your entire library as a JSON file for backup or sharing. |
| ⬇ Import | Loads a previously exported library file. Duplicate IDs are re-assigned automatically. |
Built-in Catalog
Click ＋ Add from built-in catalog to expand a list of pre-defined parts: R3 tier targets and SLT community parts. Click + add on any entry to copy it into your personal library. Edit the stats to match your actual part.
Tip: Use the type filter and search to narrow the catalog before expanding it — with hundreds of entries, filtering first saves scrolling.
