🚀 Ship Part RE
Plan space-loot reverse engineering and simulate the best combine before you burn parts.
The Ship Part RE tool simulates the in-game Component Analysis Tool for space Reverse Engineering. Loot several components of the same type and RE level, enter their stats, and the tool calculates the best possible combine — showing which part wins each stat category and what the final RE'd component will look like.
Step 1 — Choose the Part Type
- Select the Component type (e.g. Reactor, Engine, Weapon).
- Select the RE level (tier). All parts being combined must be the same tier.
- Check Master Shipwright + RE Chance +10 if you have that expertise ability active — it adds an extra +1% quality bonus.
- The blue info bar at the top of Section 1 shows how many parts you need and what the bonus percentage will be.
Step 2 — Entering Looted Parts
- The parts matrix shows one column per part and one row per stat.
- Type each looted component's stats into the cells. You can enter more parts than the RE minimum — the tool always picks the best value in every stat across all parts.
- Cells highlighted in green show which part has the winning value for each stat.
- Click ✶ Fill demo to see sample values. Click Clear to wipe all part columns.
Using OCR to Fill a Part Column
Examine component in SWG→Win+Shift+S snip→Select column → Read→Stats fill column
- In SWG, open the component's examine window and snip it with Win+Shift+S.
- In the Workshop, in the 📷 Snip stats (Win+Shift+S) into bar above the parts matrix, pick the Part (Part 1, Part 2, etc.) to fill.
- Click Read. The app reads the clipboard snip and fills the stats into that column.
- Expand ▸ show exact text the reader saw to check what was parsed if any value looks wrong.
Step 3 — Reading the Result
| Panel | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Reverse-engineered result | Each row shows the winning value, which part it came from, and the final value after the RE bonus is applied. |
| Loot guide & gaps | For each stat, shows whether your best part is in the green band (top quality) and what value you need to close the gap. |
| Perfect-part targets | Editable target values. Pre-fill from R3 crafted-tier using the ⤓ Seed from R3 tier dropdown, then edit freely. |
| Crafted baseline | Click ⇄ Compare crafted in the toolbar to reveal this panel. Enter a typical crafted component's stats — the result adds ✓/✗ markers showing where your RE'd part beats it. |
| Vendor value | A rough estimate of what this component might sell for based on community pricing. Treat as a ballpark. |
| Ship fit | Enter a chassis and your reactor generation to see whether this part fits within the ship's mass and energy budget. |
Build Management
The toolbar (Save, Duplicate, Delete, Export, Import, Reset) works the same as the Weapon Designer. Export files use the .bship extension. Use 👤 Characters to register your pilots; the character filter then shows only one character's builds, and each build can be assigned an owning character.
