🏎 Vehicle RE
Plan vehicle loot and reverse engineering, and balance the subsystems.
The Vehicle RE tool plans and simulates vehicle tinkering on Restoration 3. It has three tabs: an RE Combine Planner to find the best combine from your looted parts, a Vehicle Builder to install six finished components and check balance requirements, and a Loot Guide showing where to farm each component type.
Vehicle components drop from Scrapper NPCs. You Reverse-Engineer two components of the same type at a time — the result keeps the best value from each attribute. There is no RE bonus (unlike ship parts), but you can repeat the process indefinitely to keep improving. A finished vehicle uses six components, and the stats must be balanced across four demand/supply pairs.
- Select the Component type (e.g. Engine, Chassis, Stabilizers).
- Click + part to add columns, or - part to remove one. Start with the parts you have looted.
- Enter each looted part's stats. The Best column shows the combined result — best value from every column for each stat, highlighted in green.
- Click ✶ Fill demo to see example data. Click Clear to wipe the grid.
- The Loot shopping list on the right shows target values and how close your best is. Edit targets to match what you have seen drop on R3.
- Click Send best ▶ Builder to push the combined stats directly into Tab 2.
Instead of typing a part's stats by hand, the Scan a looted part bar above the parts matrix can read them from your screen. Examine the component in-game, then use one of three methods:
Use ▣ Set Area to drag the capture box over the in-game component window, and ◌ Show Area to display the outline (plus a Capture button so you don't have to alt-tab). After a scan, a review panel shows the detected component type, manufacturer, and each parsed stat with its quality band — click + Add as candidate to drop it into the planner as a new column (switching the planner to that component type), or Dismiss to discard. Expand Raw OCR text (debug) if a value looks wrong.
- Select your Vehicle type and Class.
- Fill in the stats for all six component slots. If you used "Send best ▶ Builder" from Tab 1, the matching slot is already populated.
- The Subsystem balance section shows the four demand/supply pairs. Each shows the demand value, supply value, and a balanced (green) or short (red) badge. Every unmet requirement cuts that subsystem's benefit, so a short pair drags performance down.
- Adjust component stats — or click ⤵ pull best from planner on a slot — until all four pairs show balanced.
The Loot Guide shows the quality band color chart, the planets where vehicle parts drop (Dathomir, Endor, Yavin IV, Mustafar), and a reminder to look for NPCs named Scrapper, which have the highest drop rates for the components they've salvaged.
Save, Duplicate, Delete, Export (.bvehicle), Import, and Reset work the same as other tools. Builds save all part stats across both the planner and builder tabs.
