The Kith Guide › Resources
📡 Resource Tracking, End to End
How the resource tools fit together — the database, what to craft now, your inventory, your harvesters, and the watches that tell you when a spawn is worth your time.
Resources on the server spawn and deplete all the time. Kith watches them for you so you don't have to. This page is the map: which tool answers which question, and how a spawn travels from the server to a notification on your desktop or in your Discord DMs.
| You want to know… | Open |
|---|---|
| What is spawning right now, and how good is it? | Resources — the live database. Guide |
| What can I craft at high quality from today's spawns? | Best Craftable Now. Guide |
| What do I already have in my bags and storage? | Resources → My Inventory. Guide |
| Are my harvesters running, powered and paid? | Holdings. Guide |
| Tell me when something worth harvesting appears | Watches — below. Desktop alerts, Discord DMs, or both. |
Everything starts from the shared Resource Database. Open Resources (the Live Resources tab) and click 🔄 SYNC DATABASE. Kith's scraper refreshes the shared copy every five minutes; your sync pulls it down. Every other resource tool reads from this same copy, so sync first and their answers reflect what is actually spawning.
Click any row in Resources to open its Top Uses — the schematics where that resource scores best. Stat cells are colour-coded (green high, gold mid, dim low). Filter ACTIVE to see only what is spawning now.
Best Craftable Now does the search for you: every schematic ranked by the experimentation cap you could hit using only active spawns, with the best resource auto-picked for each slot. Schematics that need something not currently spawning are hidden.
My Inventory (the second tab of Resources) keeps your on-hand stacks. Link a character's game-updated resource file and quantities follow what you actually have; or capture a container's examine window with the hotkey. The Crafting Tool reads from here when it recommends what to use.
There are two kinds of watch. Both fire off the same five-minute scrape; they differ in what you tell them.
You name a resource class and, optionally, stat floors.
- On the desktop: Resources → My Inventory → ⭐ Spawn Watches → + Add Watch. Fires a desktop notification while the Workshop is open.
- In Discord:
/swg watch add resource_class:Iron filter:DR>=950 SR>=900. Reeve DMs you.
You name a crafting profession instead of a resource. Kith already knows every schematic in that profession and every resource slot on each, so it only tells you about a spawn when that spawn is the best currently spawning resource for one of those slots (or an all-time record). Iron spawns every day; Iron that leads the Armor Core body slot does not.
- On the desktop: Resources → My Inventory → ⭐ Spawn Watches → Professions section → pick one or more professions. You need to be signed in to the Workshop (the panel says Sign in to subscribe otherwise) — the subscription is tied to your Discord identity, which is what lets one record reach both surfaces.
- In Discord:
/swg profession subscribe professions:armorsmith cadence:hourly— type to autocomplete; several professions are comma-separated (armorsmith, chef). Addfloor:OQ>=900to narrow it further.
One subscription, both places: subscribe in either and the desktop notification center and your Discord DMs both carry it.
| Setting | Choices | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Professions | A sub-profession (armorsmith, weaponsmith, chef, tailor, architect, shipwright, droid-engineer, cybernetic-engineer) or a whole Trader line (trader-munitions, trader-domestic, trader-structures, trader-engineering). Legacy lines — artisan, bio-engineer, medic, entertainer, scout, ranger, smuggler, community-crafter — are selectable on their own. | Which schematics count as yours. Pick as many as you craft; a Trader line covers all its sub-professions. |
| Floor | Optional stat filter, e.g. OQ>=900 DR>=950 | Only spawns that also meet these stats reach you. |
| Cadence | tick (every 5 min) · hourly · daily | How often a digest is sent. Default is hourly. An all-time record spawn is sent immediately whatever you chose. |
Each notification names the resource, its planet and stats, and the schematics it leads (the top few, then "+N more") — and the time the data was read, so you know how fresh it is.
| Where | Command / control |
|---|---|
| Discord — list everything you watch, both kinds | /swg watch list |
| Discord — stop a class watch | /swg watch remove id: |
| Discord — see or stop profession subscriptions | /swg profession list · /swg profession remove |
| Desktop | Resources → My Inventory → ⭐ Spawn Watches — toggle or delete any row |
Holdings reads your harvester, house and vendor status straight off the screen — power, maintenance, lots used, vendor stock — so the resource you were alerted to is actually being pulled, not sitting in a hopper that filled on Tuesday.
Kith's scraper reads the public spawn feed every five minutes, scores every new spawn against all 4,168 schematics, and writes the shared database and the per-schematic rankings. The #resource-spawn-alerts channel posts the exceptional ones for everyone; your watches are the personal version of the same judgement.
